While you’re not busy opening presents and enjoying all the Christmas food, then you can enjoy more of what Derby has to offer over the festive period. Chatsworth House, farmhouse and gardens are wonderfully decorated from early November which makes for a beautiful family day-out. While gazing at the gorgeous decorations you can also wander around the Christmas markets
2) Delicious food
Here at The Boars Head, we will take care of you and your family from the moment you arrive. On Christmas Eve, you will be treated to a three-course meal in a festive atmosphere complemented by a wonderful local brass band. On Christmas Day, we make sure to keep everyone energised for opening presents with our delicious Christmas breakfast. Then, you can look forward to your seven-course Christmas dinner, and if you are still hungry then you can join us for our buffet supper! On Boxing Day, we will provide hearty breakfasts plus a three-course dinner when you are back from Boxing Day sale shopping. We wouldn’t let you leave hungry – join us for the perfect send-off with another delicious breakfast before you set off home – the perfect ending to a luxurious Christmas of delicious food!
3) Luxurious winter getaway
What better way to spend Christmas than in absolute luxury. Get away for a few days and escape to a Christmas retreat! Get out of the cold and enjoy a stay at our hotel in our luxury beds and ensuite baths. Here at The Boar’s Head, we will take care of you from Christmas Eve up until the day after Boxing Day, unless you plan on treating yourself to an extra night or two!
4) Derbyshire Christmas markets
There’s no better way to get into the festive spirit than to visit a Christmas market. It is the perfect place to enjoy delicious food, whether that be a traditional German frankfurter or a warm nutella crepe. You’ll have the chance to have a wander around all the stalls and treat yourself to something special or even pick up some last-minute presents! Derbyshire Christmas market is a must-see this festive season with plenty of different markets to choose from. It’s the perfect Christmas day out for all the family!
5) Skate into Christmas
Work up an appetite for your Christmas feast by going ice skating at the Derby Christmas ice rink. Whether you are looking for a romantic winter activity with your partner or a fun family event with your loved ones, the ice rink is the perfect place to make lots of happy memories – and to quickly forget any crash landings! You can have plenty of fun skating around with your loved ones surrounded by all the glistening Christmas decorations to get you in the magical, festive mood!
